The Backseat Virgin, Part One

December 16, 2009

My story, “The Backseat Virgin, Part 1” is up at A Twist of Noir.  Read and enjoy.  And as always, comments are welcome.  Here is the teaser:

She was called “The Backseat Virgin”. Just a nameless girl found raped, shot and mutilated in an abandoned car on South Beach. For private detective Lee Price, she was just a story in the paper, until the whole case comes crashing into his office and puts his life on the line. Mobsters, murder, corruption… it’s part of life in South Florida.

Another story to be published…

December 5, 2009

Powder Burn Flash has agreed to publish the South Florida Noir story “Last Christmas.”  It’ll be in either late December or early January.  I’ll post the link when it happens.

Stories up for submission

November 29, 2009

I’ve got three stories finished, two of which are going to be submitted or already are.  Another story is too damn personal to submit or let anyone other than my wife read.

But the big news is I finished the first draft of a possible three or four part series of stories about an unsolved murder.  It’s in the South Florida Noir series, and it’s good, if I do say so myself.

An update on the Porter novel I’m writing.  It’s called Angelic Dead right now, and I’m stuck about 27,000 words into it.  I’m shelving it for two weeks and then reading what I’ve written before starting over.

The other stories on the back burner is Sloan and a new one that’s a political thriller.  Writing is fun, but it’s a hell of a lot of work!
